Backing Boards.

Out of sight is out of mind...or is it?
Because backing boards are a ‘hidden’ part of the framing job, they have become one of the least valued parts of the framing process. However, just as a house
requires good foundations, a quality framing job demands good quality backing board. Why is this?
The facts
Backing board is the only product in the framing process that has 100% contact with the artwork. If you choose a poor quality matboard only the edges of the artwork will be damaged over time, but if you choose a poor quality backing board, the entire work will see the signs of ageing and acid spotting. The most damage is caused by cheap and acidic backing boards and many greyboards or MDF contain contaminants, acids and oxidising agents.
Green is for GOOD
The Standard Backing Boards collection will slow the speed of ageing to the artwork, for minimum and commended levels of framing and complies with FATG quality standards.
